How your ICS can benefit from the NHSX Elective Recovery Fund

NHSX have launched their Elective Recovery Fund (part of the United Tech Fund). As part of this, £250 million of funding is available for digital technology that will enable elective recovery to help us “build back better” following Covid-19.

Applications need to be submitted by each Integrated Care System (ICS) by the 29th October 2021.

We’re glad to see that NHSX are supporting “digital tools that present a clear benefit to productivity or access to health care, such as ENT devices and ophthalmology image sharing solutions.”

At TympaHealth, we know first-hand the benefit of putting the right technology and support into the hands of more healthcare professionals.

The Tympa is the world’s first all-in-one hearing health assessment system. It enables clinicians to perform high-definition digital otoscopy, microsuction wax removal and a hearing screener in a single 30 minute appointment. What’s more, users can also upload patient images and video for image sharing for advice and guidance with Audiology and ENT specialists locally.

The Tympa helps deliver ear and hearing health directly into the community, increasing accessibility for patients, and reducing the outpatient waiting list burden, which has grown substantially due to the pandemic.

Currently, the Tympa system is a proven solution across a number of NHS Trusts, including University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, Epsom & St. Helier University Hospital NHS Trust, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

The introduction of the Tympa system at University College London Hospitals found a reduction of patient waiting times by 1/3, with 98% of patients saying they would recommend the service to another patient.

What’s more, a recent independent Health Economic Study carried out with Mid-South Essex Hospital Trust has shown that implementing the Tympa system within the community, in favour of the standard of care pathway, would lead to cost savings nationally of £129 million and 1.2 million fewer outpatient appointments.

TympaHealth is a Crown Commercial Service Supplier and can confidently be introduced across a Trust or ICS.
